About BinderArt

Ready-made full-page binder artwork built around the card you already own. Who makes it, how, and what we care about.

Somewhere on a collector's forum a few years ago, someone posted a photo of a binder page where a single Charizard had spilled out of its pocket and across the whole page: sky above, canyon below, the card sitting in the middle of a scene that carried on around it. Everyone wanted one. Almost nobody made one, because the recipe was Photoshop, generative fill, an evening of nudging edges, and then a ruler, a knife and a lot of swearing about pocket alignment.

BinderArt is that recipe, done for you. We make the pages; you print them.

What it is

Each BinderArt page is a full A4 sheet built around one card. The card's own artwork is continued across the eight pockets that surround it, in the illustrator's style, and laid out at exact card size with the centre pocket left for your real card. Print, cut, slide in. The card stays a card. The page becomes the rest of the picture.

Every page in the shop was made, looked at and approved by a person before it went on sale. What you see on a product page, laid into a binder, is exactly what you download.

Who it is for

Collectors who display rather than hoard. People with one favourite card that deserves more than a 63.5 by 88.9 mm window. Parents whose kid has a binder and a birthday coming. Anyone who saw that forum photo and thought "I want that" and then closed the Photoshop tutorial at minute four.

What we care about

Exact card size

Every piece is 63.5 by 88.9 mm, because that is what a card is, and a piece that is 2% too small looks 100% wrong in a pocket. The maths is done in millimetres and never rounded to fit a screen. If a piece does not measure the same as a card, the printer scaled it, and the printing guide shows where that setting hides.

Honest AI

The card's own artwork is never repainted. It stays where it is, and the image model is only allowed to work outside its edges. What it invents is invented; we do not pretend a canyon was there all along. Every page is checked by hand before it is sold, and every product page shows the full sheet, so nothing about it is a surprise.

Personal use

This is a fan project. The cards belong to the people who made them, and the pages we build around those cards are for your binder, not for a market stall. Our licence says so plainly, and we mean it.

How it is built

The shop is a Shopify Hydrogen storefront. The pages are made in an internal studio: the card is cleaned, the scene is expanded with hosted image models, the result is checked against the card and fixed where it needs fixing, and the finished sheet is saved onto the product. We test the models against each other and switch when something better appears.

What is next

  • More cards. The shop grows a few pages at a time. Tell us which card you want through the request form and it moves up the list.
  • More games. Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited all use the same card size, so the layout is already done.
  • Other layouts. Four- and six-pocket pages, and the tiled 12-pocket page, once the nine-pocket range is where we want it.
  • Printed pages. Some of you would rather we did the cutting. We hear you.
